The 10th Asian Junior Wushu Championships Welcome Reception held successfully


The 10th Asian Junior Wushu Championships Welcome Reception is held on August 18 at 16:30, Mr. Fok Chun Wan, President of the Wushu Federation of Asia and Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports of Brunei Darussalam respectively made a speech. Special thanks to the Government of Brunei Darussalam for supporting the development of wushu and continuously cultivating new seeds in wushu sports.

Mr. Fok Chun Wan conveyed appreciation to the Government of Brunei Darussalam, Wushu Federation of Brunei Darussalam and all members of the Organizing Committee for their efforts and contribution, and wishes a great success to the championships. He indicates that the Asian Junior Wushu Championships is the first International wushu championship held in Brunei Darussalam. It is seen that the development of wushu in Brunei Darussalam has matured and well performed in recent years.

Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin indicates that this might be the first time participating teams have been in Brunei Darussalam, and wanted all to feel like home and to have a meaningful experience in our beloved country. The championships serves to develop the wushu sport even further in Brunei Darussalam and Asia, it is also a platform for all of you to foster bonds of understanding between each other as one big family. To the national athletes in particular, wishes all the best and look forward to bring glory to the nation, continue to display professionalism and competitiveness as well as the beauty of Bruneian Culture of respect with one another throughout the Championship.

Mr. Fok Chun Wan presented souvenir to Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin in appreciation to the support and contribution of the organization of the event. Further, Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, on behalf of the host city to present souvenir to all participating teams’ thanks for their participation.

There were 19 countries and regions participating in the 10th Asian Junior Wushu Championships, including Brunei, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Iran, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Chinese Taipei and Vietnam, respectively with 305 Routine athletes and 129 Sanda athletes were contested, with in total over 500 participants including the team officials.

The 10th Asian Junior Wushu Championships is scheduled to be held at 8:30 am on the August 19 at the Hashan Nabojia National Indoor Stadium.
