WFA Secretariat opening ceremony and welcoming dinner was held in Mandarin Oriental Hotel (Macao) on July 4^th, 2015, invited Wushu leaders from Asian countries and regions, mainly officials of the Macao SAR government and sports community to celebrate and to witness the ceremony officiated by Vice-Chairman of CPPCC National Committee Edmund Ho Hau Wah, Acting Chief Executive of the Macao SAR Sonia Chan Hoi Fan, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office Sun Da, and President of the International Wushu Federation Yu Zaiqing accompanied by President and Secretariat-General of WFA Fok Chun Wan and Chan Weng Kit.

President Fok Chun Wan expressed his appreciation to Macao SAR government for their full support in order to have WFA secretariat successfully established in Macao and notes in his speech that WFA has been established 28 years since 1987, as the first Wushu Sport Federation being recognized by the IOC, it has the aim to systematically promote Wushu Sports towards International. WFA has currently 38 members with most reaches world-class level, however, there is still potential to enhance the development in West Central and South Asia.

President of the Macao Sport Development Board José Maria da Fonseca Tavares notes in his speech that the Macao SAR Government has always been supportive to the development of sports in Macao, and encourages our sport associations to be actively involved in the operations of their respective International and Asian federations; and would also like to affirm the support given by the Wushu General Association of Macao to the Wushu Federation of Asia.

During the dinner event, WFA issued recognition awards to those who contributed in Asian Wushu, including former President of Chinese Wushu Association Li Jie and Wang Xiaolin, former Chairman of the WFA Technical Committee Wu Bin, current President of Japan Wushu Taijiquan Federation and Vice-President of WFA Muraoka Kyuhei. Muraoka Kyuhei held a post as Secretary General for more than 20 years and has made a significant contribution to promote Wushu Sports towards Asia and International.
