Day 2 - The 12th Asian Junior Wushu Championships

The 2025 12th Asian Junior Wushu Championships (AJWC) is held at the Pegasus Watertown Culture and Sports Hall in Jiangyin City, China, from July 26 to 29. Hosted by the Wushu Federation of Asian (WFA) and organized by the Chinese Wushu Association (CWA), this edition of the championships has attracted 467 athletes from 24 countries and regions. 

The Asian Junior Wushu Championships, hosted by the WFA, is an Asian-level event for professional young wushu athletes across Asia. It is the highest-level Asian wushu event for youth and is held every two years. 

As of July 27, a total of 30 gold medals have been awarded in the taolu events of the 12th AJWC. On the second competition day, in the taolu events, 16 sets of gold medals were awarded in two sessions (morning and afternoon), while the sanda events saw quarterfinals held in 10 weight categories.

Boy’s Group A Changquan 

OHKI Sora from Japan won the gold medal with a score of 9.433; ONG Wei Bin from Malaysia took the silver with 9.433; CHUA Xin Yun from Singapore claimed the bronze with 9.403.

Girl’s Group A Changquan 

WANG King Ham from Hong Kong, China won the gold with 9.426; LEE Cheng Wei from Malaysia won the silver with 9.426; KIM Chaeyoung from South Korea won the bronze with 9.353. 

Boy’s Group A Nandao 

Joel NG from Singapore won the gold with 9.456; Mikael Nugroho WIBISONO from Indonesia took the silver with 9.456; KO Doyeong from South Korea claimed the bronze with 9.413. 

Girl’s Group A Nandao 

Thalia Marvelina TANZIL from Indonesia won the gold with 9.413; CHEUNG Ut Teng from Macao, China took the silver with 9.393; CHOI Nakyung from South Korea claimed the bronze with 9.326.

Boy’s Group C Nangun 

CHAN Fenze from Macao, China won the gold with 9.046; LIM Logan Hong Sheng from Malaysia took the silver with 9.036; Daniil JEJULA from Kazakhstan claimed the bronze with 9.033.  

Girl’s Group C Nangun 

HE Meiyo Mandy from Singapore won the gold with 9.046; LE Nhat Ha from Vietnam took the silver with 9.033; Helia CHERAGHI from Iran claimed the bronze with 9.023.

Boy’s Group C Daoshu 

Gavriel Bryan WIJAYA from Indonesia won the gold with 9.076; WEE Hao Quan Bryan from Malaysia took the silver with 9.073; TEE Jing Yang Joshua from Singapore claimed the bronze with 9.070.

Girl’s Group C Daoshu 

Jenny NGASERIN from Indonesia won the gold with 9.053; Renee CHUI from Hong Kong, China took the silver with 9.010.

Boy’s Group B Jianshu 

WANG Chengxu from China won the gold with 9.196.

CHAN Wai Zing from Singapore won the gold with 9.056; IMAI Yurino from Japan took the silver with 9.010; TAN Yu Xuan from Malaysia claimed the bronze with 8.976.  

Boy’s Group C Taijiquan 

KUONG Wai Lam from Macao, China won the gold with 8.943; Mohammad Taha ESHAQI from Afghanistan took the silver with 8.896; ONG Yong Jun Samuel from Brunei claimed the bronze with 8.873.

Breena Jeffelin SUSANTO from Indonesia won the gold with 9.046; Devikarani Devi KONTHOUJAM from India took the silver with 8.690.

Boy’s Group B Taijiquan 

POON Hao Ran from Hong Kong, China won the gold with 9.273; WANG Yi-Cheng from Chinese Taipei took the silver with 9.236; LIM Ron Jun Fong from Malaysia claimed the bronze with 9.050.

CHEN Chao-Hsiang from Chinese Taipei won the gold with 9.400; KIM Hyunsu from South Korea took the silver with 9.353; ALEXANDER GABRIEL DE LOS REYES from the Philippines claimed the bronze with 9.303.

KWAN Yong Xin from Malaysia won the gold with 9.426; NG Zhe Nin from Singapore took the silver with 9.333; NGUYEN Huong Giang from Vietnam claimed the bronze with 9.316.

Overview of Wushu Sanda Events 

On the second competition day, in the morning session, quarterfinals were held in 5 weight categories: Boy’s Junior 42kg, 45kg, 52kg, 56kg, and Girl’s Youth 48kg. In the afternoon session, quarterfinals were held in another 5 weight categories: Boy’s Youth 48kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, and 65kg. Qualified athletes are as follows:

At the end of the second day's events, the host team China topped the medal table with 9 gold medals; Indonesia ranked second with 5 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze medals; Singapore came in third with 4 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze medal.
