The Wushu Judges Training Course for the 20th Asian Games officially commenced today (June 29) in Haikou, Hainan Province, China. Co-hosted for the first time by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), the International Wushu Federation (IWUF), and the Wushu Federation of Asia (WFA), the program aims to unify international wushu judging standards, enhance the professional officiating capabilities of judges from across Asia, and ensure fair and standardized operations at the 20th Asian Games. This historic tripartite collaboration also promotes the sustainable development of wushu in Asia, marking a significant milestone for the sport.
In his address, WFA President Chan Weng Kit highlighted that this tripartite cooperation signifies the close integration of wushu within the broader Asian sports family. He emphasized that this partnership is crucial to ensuring the smooth delivery of the wushu competitions at the upcoming Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games this September. During the event, President Chan presented a commemorative gift to Wissam Trkmani, representative of the OCA, and expressed profound gratitude for the OCA's tremendous support in facilitating the training course.
The wushu competitions for the 20th Asian Games are scheduled to take place from September 20 to 24 at the Aichi Prefectural Budokan in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture.
