The 20th Wushu Federation of Asia (WFA) Congress was successfully convened on the morning of September 19, 2026 at the Cypress Garden Hotel in Nagoya, Japan. 

The Congress approved the 2024-2026 Work Report presented by the WFA Secretariat, reached multiple key resolutions, and finalized the competition schedule for the coming years, laying a solid foundation for the future planning and organizational development of Wushu events across Asia. 

During the meeting, the new WFA Executive Committee was elected for a term from 2026 to 2030. Chan Weng Kit has been re-elected as President, Vice Presidents include Mahdi Alinejad (Iran), Julian Camacho (Philippines), Chen Chong (China), and Fok Kai Man (Hong Kong, China), Secretary General Chong Kim Fatt (Malaysia), Treasurer Ang Mong Seng (Singapore) and Committee Members: Zhang Yuping (China), Yang Mei-Jung (Chinese Taipei), Bhupender Bajwa (India), George Nseir (Lebanon), Tanikawa Masaru (Japan), and Gaji Gajiev (Kazakhstan). 

Then, the Congress officially approved the United Arab Emirates Wushu Federation as an WFA Associate Member, bringing the total number of WFA member associations to 40, further expanding the scale and influence of the Asian Wushu family. 

The hosting rights for the 2027-2029 Asian Wushu competitions were also confirmed: 

• 13th Asian Junior Wushu Championships in 2027: Tentatively scheduled to be hosted by Hong Kong, China, or Singapore.

• 11th Asian Wushu Championships in 2028: Awarded to the Wushu Association of India, planned to be held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, in November 2028.

• 2nd Asian Traditional Wushu Championships in 2028: To be held in Haikou, China.

• 14th Asian Junior Wushu Championships in 2029: Awarded to the Kazakhstan Kung Fu Wushu Federation, planned to be held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, in July 2029.

The WFA stated that with the confirmation of hosting rights and development plans for multiple major events, it will continue to work hand in hand with all member associations to propel Asian Wushu to new heights and embark on a new chapter of internationalization.
